Hello friends near and far,
Happy Spring Day! Today is the first day of everyday. It is a blessing to feel the growing warmth of our sunshine. Sending you some loving sunshine from my humble home.
With the restrictions imposed upon us, we had to stop and slow down. It has been hard to do this as it is not our usual way of life. we are used to being switched on 24/7. This year has been the year of Yin. The year of hibernation, The year of lockdown. The year of going a bit crazy with the four walls around us. It has been hard for everyone – young and old. Living the life of restrictions is not healthy but we can learn from it. We can reflect on what we have gained positively from this experience and how we can sustain this. It is ok to feel flat at times. It is ok to worry. It is ok to ask for help. It is ok to be kind to yourself.
I have been spending a lot of time observing the trees during the past year and they have been my reminders that nothing is permanent. Everything is continually changing.
Nature continues to follow its pattern of life regardless of what’s happening around them. Nature rest during winter – the trees are asleep for a few months – conserving the energy they need to grow and bear fruits/seeds then they let go and sleep. Embracing hibernation and spending more time with nature has been a positive for me. It has encouraged me to slow down without feeling guilty and that it is ok. “What is more important is how well did you love? How fully did you live? How deeply did you let go?” Buddha. Those simple words made me reflect on the nature of our trees – how well they live, how they thrive and how they let go and how we may learn from this. Namaste xxx
